  • A cosy, comfortable house with every convenience and well equipped, in a lovely rural location. Not for families with young children because of the water hazard - Princess Margriet Canal and pond.

    Dirk B. · April 2022VRBO

  • The house sits right on a canal with busy inland shipping traffic, so there's always something to watch. The highlight is the open-plan kitchen and living room, where ten people can spend cosy evenings together.

    Claus P. · December 2021VRBO

  • In summer this must be a beautiful spot, but unfortunately the weather was really against us. Otherwise the house has every convenience and is very spaciously laid out. The location offers a great deal of privacy and borders directly on the Princess Margriet Canal (with the passing boats that come with it). Communication was top-notch and Paulien replies quickly to messages.

  • A beautiful, quiet house with a lovely pond you can swim in. The stairs to the first floor are very steep. I'd happily come back here again. Very well furnished and spacious. The quiet location means no traffic. Perfect!

    Michael K. · April 2018VRBO

  • The house is great, there's loads of space, the rooms are nicely furnished and everything is there, including in the fantastic kitchen. We enjoyed the pond with its raft for swimming, the cows, herons and birds, and the passing boats. Leeuwarden is a lovely little city and the Alde Feanen are well worth a visit too. The icing on the cake: I finally discovered Heer Bommel! Wonderful reading.

    Barbara · July 2017Airbnb

  • A holiday week for the family with teenagers and young adults. Warm welcome (thank you, Paulien), the house is easy to live in and beautifully located on the canal, where large houseboats and lots of small boats pass by. Well-equipped kitchen, the living-dining room is friendly and comfortable, the rooms are quiet and the beds perfect. We had hired a motor boat (sloop), handy and fun, essential for getting around the area. A good base for a trip to the Wadden Sea islands, and Leeuwarden is close by (lovely city centre) for a city break. Restful and rural, truly exotic!

    Judith · July 2017Airbnb

    Niek · April 2017Airbnb

  • Beautiful house, lots of privacy

    Carin · January 2017Airbnb

  • A lovely place to stay with family. Lively enough thanks to the canal, with boats passing by every day. Cosy and warm, beautiful view!

    Chantal · January 2017Airbnb

  • Very long review (Christmas stay, ages 26–80). Key points: saw a white-tailed eagle, geese sleep in the nature reserve across the water, the partly thatched roof gives warmth and cosiness, cats, a separate toilet in the entrance hall as an extra bathroom, CD player, excellently equipped kitchen (convection oven, citrus press, blender, mortar — no hand mixer), Grou 8 km away via bascule bridges, Sneek 20 minutes away. The living-dining room is the heart of the house; every seat at the table has a view of the water.

    Britta · December 2016Airbnb

  • Anna Fleur was very easy to reach both beforehand and during our stay, and a lovely host - even though we never met. Arriving was wonderful, in total peace and privacy, and what a beautiful spot! We found it even nicer and more spacious than in the photos. A fantastic place where truly everything is there for a carefree stay. We spent a weekend there with friends and family - and it turned into a real party. The spacious open-plan kitchen made cooking together a joy, and the rooms gave everyone enough privacy. Highly recommended for weekends with friends/family!

    Lotte · November 2016Airbnb

  • The key was neatly where it was supposed to be — lovely not having to bother anyone and being able to arrive at any time. There were fresh flowers everywhere and the beds were made. There were more than enough towels, and everything was very clean. The cats were lovely company, as was Henkje the chicken with her fresh eggs! Every room has a window with a fly screen! The little harbour works perfectly. Wonderful big garden with seating in the sun everywhere, more than enough comfy chairs, and a large pond you can swim in! The only thing we struggled with a bit was the Wi-Fi and the smart TV. We had a wonderful holiday in this fantastic house in a beautiful spot! Many thanks from our whole family.

    Hadewych · July 2016Airbnb

  • We booked the whole house for our fishing trip and were amazed by the huge, peaceful grounds. There are lots of places to sit and enjoy the landscape. The house has everything we needed: a big kitchen, a long dining table with comfortable furniture and a private harbour for our boats. The host met all our wishes and is a very friendly person. We had problems with the harbour gate, but the host sent a mechanic out to us at night, so it was fixed by the next morning! You can even take the boat to the supermarket in the little town of Grou. The chicken was a funny fellow and kept an eye on things all day :-) We enjoyed our stay in your house and recommend the house and you 100%!

    Alex · May 2016Airbnb

  • Quiet, secluded and very clean house — The nearest neighbour lives hundreds of metres away. The house is right on the water and comfortably sleeps 10 without feeling cramped.
